Srinagar: The Government Wednesday issued formal orders for payment of 7th Pay Commission pension arrears in respect of pensioners with age more than 80 years in cash, in one go.
“Pension arrears in respect of pensioners with age more than 80 years shall be paid in cash, in one go,” said an order issued by the Principal Secretary Finance, Navin Kumar Choudhary.
It said the pay and pension arrears, if any, in respect of employees who retired shall retire w.e.f 01-01-2016 to 31-05-2018, whose arrears cannot be credited to respective GP Fund Accounts shall be paid in cash in three equal six-monthly installments, on the pattern of Government Order No 223-F of 2018 dated 24-04-2018.
These orders are being issued in partial modification to Government Order No: 220-F of 2018 dated: 24-04-2018 and Government Order No: 223-F of 2018 dated: 24-04-2018, it said.
Pertinently, responding to the plea of the elderly pensioners, Chief Minister, Ms Mehbooba Mufti had last week announced that the arrears of pensioners above 80 years of age would be paid in one go.
