Poonch: The cross border firing between India and Pakistan has left five Indian soldiers injured in Krishna Ghati sector of Mendhar area in Poonch district of Jammu region.
The injured included an officer as well.
Well placed Defense sources confirmed to the injuries of five army soldiers in cross border shelling and firing.
Sources said injured soldiers have been evacuated and airlifted to military hospital Udhampur for advanced treatment.
The officer said that the injuries caused after Pakistani army violated the ceasefire at around 7:30 am on Tuesday morning.
The intermittent exchange of fire continued for hours.
The injured were identified as lieutenant Kallmputi Bhargava (23), Naib Subedar Mahlya Vikas Motilal (43), Subebar Sakunday Sameer Kashi Nath (37), Naik Dhumal Sandeep (35) and sepoy Mastpuray Subham (21).
