Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Police on Tuesday issued a statement with regard to Hajin kidnapping and firing incident.
The statement reads that last night 4 militants who are believed to be affiliated with the militant organisation LeT, barged into the house of Farooq Parrey at Par- Mohalla Hajin in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district and without caring about the life and dignity of the inmates, fired indiscriminately inside the house.
The militants used the knives that they were carrying and caused grievous injuries to wife, daughter and brother of Farooq; namely Rafeeqa, Neelofar and Hilal Parrey. The militants also abducted Muntazir Parrey (the son in law of House owner) from there.
Efforts are on by the police to trace out the abducted person.
The injured in the incident have been shifted to Srinagar. Rafeeqa has one firearm injury besides other serious injuries caused by a sharp weapon. Others have injuries due to an assault using a sharp weapon.
An FIR into the incident has been registered and investigation into the matter set into motion.
It is pertinent to mention here that one son of Farooq namely Muzzafar Parrey @ Muzz Nata was killed by militants last summer, who was first decapitated and then thrown into the river.
Police said that on Monday afternoon they recovered the body of a youth abducted by gunmen last night from his in-laws’ home in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A police official said that the body of Naseer Ahmad Sheikh (26), son of Ghulam Nabi Sheikh, was recovered from a nallah in Baghat Mohalla Shahgund, five kilometers from his residence in Hajin.
Naseer, as per his family and the police, was kidnapped at gunpoint by suspected militants from the house of his in-laws last night around 10:15 pm.
Three of his relatives were injured after they tried to resist his kidnapping.
“The body bears visible bullet marks,” police said.
