Srinagar: The son of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai is missing since Friday this week, police said on Saturday.
According to the police, Junaid Ashraf Khan, 26, has gone missing Friday afternoon from his home.The police said that the family has lodged a missing report with it.“The family has lodged a missing report with us. His brother Rashid Ashraf Khan arrived at the police station Saturday afternoon. He told us that his brother Khan is missing since yesterday,” said a police official from Sadder police station where the family has lodged a missing report.
The family, as per police official, has stated in the missing report that Junaid had went for Friday prayers and had told his family that he will return in the evening after repairing his mobile phone at Lal Chowk.Junaid is a resident of Jehangir Colony in Srinagar’s Baghat area.
Terming Tehreek-e-Hurriyat chairman Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai’s son joining of militant ranks as “unfortunate”, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Shesh Paul Vaid urged Sehrai to appeal his son and other local boys to shun gun.
Meanwhile media reports quoted Director General of Police S P Vaid a saying “Seharai’s son joining militancy is very unfortunate. I urge Sehari to appeal his son and other local gun wielding youth to return”.
