Budgam: Chaiman PDF and MLA Khansahib, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has demanded restoration of pre-1953 position to Jammu and Kashmir state adding that it would be a step forward towards resolution of the vexed Kashmir imbri logo.
Addressing a public gathering at Hardvail in Khansahib constituency Saturday, Hakeem Yaseen said that erosion of special position to the state from time to time coupled with large scale rigging of elections in 1987 have caused great discontentment, mistrust and uncertainty among the people of Kashmir against the center which has eventually given rise to so many problems and issues confronting the state continuously till today. He said abolishing the position of Prime Minister in place of Chief Minister was the beginning of breach in the mutual trust and faith between the center and the state relations, adding that this u-turn in the Kashmir issue created an atmosphere of unrest, violence and unaccountability which is going on with impunity inflicting great miseries and trouble to the people. He said restoration of pre-1953 position would, to some extent, pave way for removing anger and heart burning among the people against center.” “Addressing the prevailing political uncertainty on priority was pre-requisite for restoring peace in the troubled state,” Hakeem Yaseen emphasized.
Dwelling on local problems, Hakeem Yaseen said that the district Budgam is educationally most backward area in the state with only 44 percent literacy rate which needs a focused attention of the government. “I have already apprised the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Education Minister Syed Altaf Bukhari about this problem and sought priority to district Budgam especially Khansahib constituency while opening new schools or during up gradation of the present schools who have assured me all possible help from the government in this regard, Hakeem Yaseen added.
Responding to the demands of the local people, Hakeem Yaseen assured them that schools in Hardvail would also be upgraded shortly.
Hakeem Yaseen also commissioned the newly augmented water supply scheme in Hardvail, completed at a cost of Rs.1 crore. He announced that a spacious building for Health Sub center at Hardvail would be constructed at a cost of Rs.44 lakhs. He asked the concerned engineers to expedite work on construction of Randakdaji-Jawalapora-Waterhail-Muqam and -Yarikhah road, coming up at a cost of Rs15 cr. under CRF.
Hakeem Yaseen was given a rousing reception by the people on reaching the venue at Hardvail.
