Srinagar: National Conference patron and parliamentarian Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday said that ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took a right decision of sacking Haseeb Drabu from the cabinet after his remarks “Kashmir is not a political issue”.
In a guarded reply, Farooq said amid mounting criticism from various political parties over Drabu’s remarks, PDP took a right decision to sack him from the cabinet. While saying that Drabu was the chief architect of implementing GST in the state, Abdullah told reporters at NC headquarters in Srinagar: “His party saw that it is an issue. All political parties in the state criticised his remarks”.
“… He had also implemented GST here… So his party took decision … And I feel it is the right decision taken by his party,” he said.
