Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan late Monday evening informed that all schools, higher secondary institutions and colleges will remain open tomorrow.
“Schools will remain open from Tuesday. In a review meeting, we decided that all government schools, higher secondary institutions and colleges in the valley will remain open tomorrow,” the Div com was quoted as saying by local news gathering agency KNS.
Schools in Srinagar and some areas of south Kashmir were closed on Monday after the killing of three militants in an encounter in Anantnag area. One of the slain militants belonged to the city.
Meanwhile, dismissing the rumours about further holidays in schools, the Director School Education, Kashmir G N Itoo Monday said that all schools in the Valley shall remain open from Tuesday.
He said, “Schools will remain open from Tuesday. As per situation concerned Deputy Commissioners will take a call whether schools need to be closed in any area or not. But from our side orders are clear to keep schools open.”
