Employees to launch agitation in case culprits in Asifa’s case not punished: EJCC

Srinagar: Employees Joint Consultative Committee (EJCC) Saturday appealed State Government to redress all the problems faced by employees in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing press conference in a local hotel here, EJCC spokesperson Aijaz Ahmad Khan said that government has miserably failed to redress the grievances of state employees. He said despite repeated pleas, SRO 520 has not been amended. Further, SSA teachers are not being monthly paid while 7th Pay Commission has not been implemented as per the wishes and aspiration of employees.
He said that the brutal and heinous crime has shocked and shaken the conscious of every human bring.
“We have close eye on the developments. We will launch state wide intense agitation in a case justice is delayed or denied this brutal rape and murder case of a minor,” he added.
Khan said that they have also taken up the issue of employees with government whose services were terminated on the grounds of anti-national activities during 2016 unrest.
Manzoor Pampori, a senior member of EJCC said that EJCC is making efforts to post-mortem the negative trade-unionism and simultaneously fight for the long pending genuine and legitimate demands of the state employees.
While handing over list of demand sof employees to media persons, Pampori said that EJCC by virtue of this press conference appeal the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti intervene personally in resolving the long pending demands of the state employees.
Sheikh Aijaz Makhdoomi, another senior member of EJCC, said that their demands include an official beckoner for 7th pay commission should be issued and benefits at par with that of central government employees.
“Timely payment, streamlining of SSA teachers salary and delinking it from the central source as announced in budget speech of 2016-17; necessary amendments and correction of loopholes in SRO 520, contractual employees should be regularised as per already well defined SRO 64,” he added.
He said that EJCC also demands enhancement in wages of anganwadi workers, formation of job policy in favour of contractual employees, implementation of minimum wages act in favour of contingent paid employees and formation of job policy for them.
