Jammu: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga Saturday inaugurated modernized and digitized branch of J&K Grameen Bank at Ramgarh.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the banks play an important role in the State’s financial system and the economy.
The Minister said Centre under the Pradhan Mantri Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) and state under Chief Minister Employment Generation Program (CMEGP) has started enormous schemes for the unemployed youth and also giving 25% to 35% subsidy on loans so that they can start their own business and create jobs for other unemployed youth. He said government has allocated huge budget for the same under both schemes.
Among others, Chairman JK Grameen Bank, R K Chhibber, General Manager Ramesh Vaid, Chief of Inspection Jatinder Bhardwaj, Regional Manager Jammu K.L Sharma, Regional Manager Kathua Ramdev Sharma, bank staff and locals were present on the occasion.
Earlier, the Minister also presided over the first Annual Day function of Shemford Futuristic School as chief guest.
While addressing the gathering, the Minister lauded the efforts of the school management in bringing up the school at par excellence in Jammu. He said school has made a remarkable beginning and progress in just ten months of its establishment.
MLA Samba D.K Manyal, Chairperson of the school Vijay Prui,, Managing Director Sunil Dogra along with other dignitaries, staff of the school, parents and students were also present on the occasion.
