Srinagar :Asian Paints Wood Adhesives has launched two new products, Hydronaa and Ultraa, as part of its expansion of its wood adhesives portfolio, the company said on Thursday.

The launch was marked by an event in which 250 distributors from across India came together to create a 384-square-foot wooden mosaic. The installation has been recognised by the Asia Book of Records as the “Largest Wooden Mosaic Artwork Created by an Organization”, according to the company.

The mosaic was created using individual wooden panels contributed by participating distributors. Asian Paints said Hydronaa adhesive was used to affix the panels to the larger installation, making the product part of the record attempt.

The initiative was organised around the theme “A Better Bond Starts Here” and was also used to unveil the two new products.

According to Asian Paints, Hydronaa is a premium waterproof wood adhesive developed for woodworking applications where resistance to water and humidity is required.

The company said the product uses waterproof polymer technology and offers high bond strength, improved spreadability and easier application. It also provides 10% higher coverage, according to the company.

Asian Paints said Hydronaa is designed to help improve the durability of furniture by protecting bonded surfaces from the effects of water.

The company has also launched an improved version of its Ultraa wood adhesive for everyday woodworking applications.

According to Asian Paints, the upgraded product offers better coverage, improved spreadability, easier application, improved bubble repairability and high bond strength.

The company said the two products are aimed at addressing different requirements of the woodworking process while expanding its range of adhesive solutions.

The launch event brought together 250 distributors, who participated in creating the wooden installation before the products were unveiled.

Amit Syngle, MD & CEO, Asian Paints Ltd., said the initiative reflected the role of distributors in taking the company’s products to consumers and the woodworking community.

“At Asian Paints, our understanding of the home has always gone beyond what people see on its walls. It is about the many products, materials, people and skilled hands that come together to create spaces that are built to last,” Syngle said.

He said the launch of Hydronaa and Ultraa marked the company’s expansion into another part of the home-building ecosystem.

Syngle said bringing 250 distributors together to create a single artwork reflected the company’s emphasis on collaboration with its distributor network.

The company said the new products form part of its focus on developing purpose-led adhesive solutions for the woodworking sector.
