Srinagar: Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has called for a shutdown in Kashmir on Saturday against the killing of Yousuf Nadeem, shifting of Kashmiri inmates from central jail Srinagar and “bias” of Indian judiciary against Kashmiris.
Muhammad Yousuf Rather alias Yousuf Nadeem was associated with Hurriyat (G). He was shot dead by gunmen while he was travelling home in a passenger cab in Beerwah area of Budgam.
“Shifting political inmates and lifers from Srinagar central jail, ‘cancellation’ of FIR against Shopian killers by Indian supreme court and brutal killing of Hurriyat leader Muhammad Yousuf Nadeem are all glaring example of tyranny unleashed against Kashmiris,” said the JRL, in a statement Thursday.
JRL comprising Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik who is admitted at SKIMS have strongly condemned the “oppression” unleashed against Kashmiris by the forces, said the statement.
