Jammu | November, 05: Security forces deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir celebrated Diwali on Thursday while maintaining round-the-clock operational readiness.
Reports said that in the Akhnoor and Nowshera sectors, troops offered prayers, lit firecrackers, and shared festive greetings. “They were seen lighting firecrackers, offering prayers at a temple and celebrating the festival with fellow soldiers while continuing their operational duties along the LoC,” witnesses said. Surveillance remains heavily reinforced using high-resolution cameras, drones, and electronic equipment alongside conventional patrolling. “Our personnel are celebrating the festival while remaining fully alert and committed to their responsibilities. Security arrangements along the borders remain in place, and surveillance is being maintained round the clock,” an official said. Meanwhile, festive preparations picked up in Jammu city with bustling markets and temporary firecracker stalls.
