Baramulla | :As part of the ongoing celebrations of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, various outreach activities were conducted across tribal areas of Baramulla district on Day 4, with a focus on extending essential services, creating awareness and ensuring community participation.

At Government Middle School Darakashi, a hard-to-reach tribal village of Tangmarg, a Mega Health Camp was organised under the supervision of the Block Medical Officer, Tangmarg. Doctors from various medical specialities examined patients and provided necessary medical consultations. Free medicines, diagnostic tests and other essential healthcare facilities were also provided to the beneficiaries.

Under the Rashtriya Kishor SwasthyaKaryakram (RKSK), Adolescent Health Counsellors interacted with adolescents and conducted awareness sessions on physical, mental and emotional well-being. The sessions highlighted the importance of a healthy lifestyle, balanced nutrition, mental health awareness and seeking timely guidance on adolescent-related concerns.

Meanwhile, the Health Department, Block Uri, actively participated in a Health Awareness and Outreach Camp organised at the tribal village of Chaarunda. A team of healthcare personnel provided essential health services, conducted preliminary medical examinations and offered appropriate medical advice and counselling to the local population.

Awareness was also imparted regarding preventive healthcare, personal hygiene, sanitation, communicable and non-communicable diseases and the importance of timely medical consultation. Eligible beneficiaries were guided about available healthcare facilities and referred to higher health institutions wherever required.

The activities witnessed community participation and aimed at strengthening outreach to tribal communities, improving access to essential services and promoting awareness about various welfare and healthcare initiatives.
