Srinagar | Nov, 4 : Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary, on Wednesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to weaken the National Conference (NC), alleging that the party had misled Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi amid the political developments surrounding his resignation.

Referring to BJP leader Ram Madhav’s remarks following Ruhullah’s resignation, Mr. Choudhary said Madhav had claimed that people associated with the BJP had attended the former MP’s programme.

“If Ram Madhav says that the people who attended Aga Sahib’s programme were ours, then why are you questioning us? You should ask BJP leader Sunil Sharma,” Mr. Choudhary told reporters.

Describing Mr. Ruhullah as an honest and decent person, the Deputy Chief Minister alleged that the BJP had misled him and questioned the party’s role in the developments.

“BJP always engages in political drama,” he said, accusing the party of attempting to create divisions within the National Conference.
