Ganderbal : Police on Monday seized 25 vehicles, including tippers and tractors, involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals across Ganderbal and Awantipora.
In a statement issued here on Monday Police said that in Ganderbal 24 vehicles including 12 tractors and 12 tippers have been seized within a week for extracting and transporting minor minerals without valid authorization. The vehicles were seized on the spot and handed over to the Geology & Mining Department for the imposition of requisite fines under the law. Additionally, Police in Awantipora seized a dumper (JK03-6088) in the Mandakpal area of Khrew during naka checking, leading to the registration of FIR No. 87/2026 at Police Station Khrew.
