Srinagar : Kashmir Medical College and Hospital (KMCH) in Sempora, Srinagar, has inaugurated a new Dialysis Unit, enhancing specialized healthcare services in the region.

This state-of-the-art facility aims to alleviate the burden on patients requiring regular dialysis by providing local access to essential renal care, thereby reducing their reliance on distant hospitals. The unit, which features five beds, is designed to serve patients from Zewan, Pulwama, Pampore, Sempora, and surrounding areas in south Kashmir. It will offer dialysis services at affordable rates, making treatment more accessible for those who need frequent sessions. Insha Qazi, the Executive Director of KMCH, emphasized that this initiative is part of the institution’s ongoing commitment to expand healthcare services and improve patient care closer to home. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Nazir Ahmad Khan highlighted that the establishment of the Dialysis Unit signifies KMCH’s dedication to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and services. Medical Superintendent Dr. Syed Mubashir noted that the facility would significantly benefit local communities by reducing travel burdens for patients and their families, thus improving overall access to necessary medical treatments.
