Samba : Students from the Department of Economics at Central University of Jammu on Saturday organized a school transformation initiative at NPS Khu-Talab (Suchani) in District Samba, aimed at enhancing the school environment through painting, renovation, and cleanliness efforts.

The initiative sought to create a more inviting atmosphere for students, thereby fostering a positive learning environment. Under the guidance of Dr. Shaveta Kohli, the program emphasized community service and the importance of maintaining clean educational spaces. The students demonstrated teamwork and social responsibility, highlighting the role of a hygienic school environment in promoting healthy habits and raising awareness about cleanliness and environmental protection. The initiative reflects the Department’s commitment to extending learning beyond the classroom through community engagement, allowing students to contribute to societal improvement while gaining insights into social responsibility and grassroots development. Dr. Kohli expressed gratitude to Vice-Chancellor Professor Sanjeev Jain for his support, which was instrumental in realizing the vision of the transformation initiative. Overall, the drive at NPS Khu-Talab exemplifies how higher education institutions can collaborate with local communities to enhance educational facilities and promote civic responsibility. Such efforts can motivate students, teachers, and community members to actively participate in maintaining clean and welcoming educational environments, reinforcing the connection between higher education and community needs through practical initiatives that benefit social welfare.
