Pulwama : Police on Friday seized 23 dumpers/tippers and one heavy excavator for illegal mining during early-morning raids across the Rohmu belt in Pulwama .
In a statement issued here on Friday, Police said a police team led by DySP Headquarters Pulwama intercepted unauthorized soil extraction at Gusoo. Preliminary findings revealed that the extraction activity was being executed in violation of the prescribed permit terms and conditions.
A case has been registered at Police Station Pulwama under relevant legal provisions, and a detailed investigation has been initiated to ascertain all facts and establish accountability. Police in its statement reiterated its commitment to preserve public resources and protect the environment from illegal extraction activities.
