Ganderbal, Oct 9: Two boys from Srinagar who reportedly lost their way while trekking in the forest area between Kullan and Rayil in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district were traced near Rayil Bridge on Friday morning, officials said.

The boys, identified as Huzair and Minaan, had ventured into the forest for trekking on Thursday and reportedly sought assistance through the emergency helpline Dial 112 after losing their way.

Following the information, a joint search operation was launched by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) unit Gund, Gund Police and the Dial 112 police unit to trace the boys.

Officials said the duo was eventually traced near Rayil Bridge, towards Rayil village, on Friday morning.

The search operation was launched after the boys’ whereabouts became a concern, with their mobile phones reportedly switched off, making it difficult for the teams to establish further contact with them.
