Srinagar |Oct, 8:AInspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar Singh, IPS, on Thursday felicitated the Srinagar Police team for busting an organised inter-state narcotics network operating in Downtown Srinagar.
The team, led by SSP Srinagar Dr G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, IPS, was recognised for its investigation into FIR No. 135/2026 registered at Police Station Safakadal, which led to the unearthing of the drug-trafficking network.
The felicitated team included Zonal SP Showkat Ahmad, SDPO M.R. Ganj Junaid Wali, besides the SHOs and investigating officers of Police Station M.R. Ganj.
According to police, the investigation resulted in the arrest of eight accused persons and the recovery of large quantities of narcotic substances, cash, gold and other assets valued at crores of rupees.
The investigation also revealed alleged inter-state linkages and financial channels associated with the organised narcotics network.
IGP Kashmir appreciated the Srinagar Police team for its investigative efforts and directed officers to continue sustained action against organised crime and drug trafficking.
J&K Police said it remains committed to dismantling drug-trafficking networks, targeting their financial infrastructure and taking stringent action against those involved in the narcotics trade.
