Minister directs time-bound execution, quality, people-centric development
Baramulla : The Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperative and Election Department, Javid Ahmad Dar on Saturday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for several significant developmental projects in the Rafiabad constituency. The initiatives are designed to enhance rural infrastructure and improve public services, particularly for residents in remote areas. Key sectors targeted include education, veterinary services, livestock development, and road connectivity.
Among the notable projects, an Engineering Complex with an estimated cost of 60 crore rupees was initiated at Watergam, aimed at bolstering infrastructure in the region. Additionally, an Embryo Transfer Technology Laboratory was established at Chijhama to advance modern breeding practices in livestock development. The upgradation of the Veterinary Building in Shultoo, completed at a cost of 29 lakh rupees, is expected to enhance veterinary services for local farmers. In the education sector, the Minister laid the foundation for a new 10-room building at Higher Secondary School Shultoo, with an investment of 2.74 crore rupees, alongside the construction of specialized laboratories at Boys Higher Secondary School Shultoo, costing 72 lakh rupees. These developments aim to improve academic infrastructure and support science and technology education. In terms of road infrastructure, the Brandub–Khahmoh Road was inaugurated, enhancing connectivity at a cost of 1.70 crore rupees. Furthermore, the Minister laid the foundation for the restoration of the Vohlutra–Shultoo–Arkhurwari Road, estimated at 1 crore rupees, which will facilitate better access to essential services and markets.
Speaking at the event, Minister Javid Dar emphasized the government’s commitment to delivering development directly to the populace, focusing on infrastructure and public services in rural areas. He highlighted the importance of translating physical assets into improved services and quality of life. The Minister urged strict adherence to project timelines and quality standards, advocating for inter-departmental coordination and transparency throughout the implementation process. He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to inclusive, need-based development across various sectors, ensuring that benefits reach the grassroots level.
