Srinagar | Sept. 12: The Press Information Bureau (PIB), Srinagar Region, is organising a media tour for journalists from Srinagar to Chennai from September 13 to 19, 2026 as part of its ongoing media outreach initiatives.
A 13 member delegation comprising journalists from Srinagar and PIB officials will participate in the tour. Prior to the departure, Director, PIB Srinagar, Qazi Salman, briefed the delegation on the objectives of the visit and urged the participants to make meaningful use of the interactions during the tour.
The delegation is being led by Shri Shahid Lone, Field Publicity Officer, CBC Anantnag, serving as the Conducting Officer, with Shri Ifham Ul Islam, Information Assistant, PIB Srinagar, accompanying the delegation.
The tour is aimed at providing journalists with firsthand exposure to key Central Government institutions, projects and initiatives in Chennai and enhancing their understanding of national level policies and their implementation on the ground.
During the visit, the delegation will visit various Central Government establishments and projects in Chennai and interact with senior officials to gain an understanding of their functioning and operations.
Addressing the delegation, Qazi Salman congratulated the participants and expressed confidence that the visit would provide an opportunity for professional engagement and a better understanding of the functioning of Central Government institutions.
