Srinagar | September, 07: The ongoing agitation by MBBS and BDS interns across Jammu and Kashmir escalated on Monday as protesting doctors initiated a 48-hour hunger strike to press for an increase in their monthly stipend from Rs 12,300 to Rs 30,000.
Terming their movement as entirely apolitical, representatives while talking to reporters here demanded a formal written executive order by September 15. Health activists have appealed for high-level intervention to resolve the stalemate and prevent further disruption to patient care and academic training.
