Shah Credits BHARATPOL For Strengthening India’s Security Forces
Says “Post-Article 370 Abrogation Kashmir Terrorism Dropping To Zero”
“Extradition Of 274 Fugitives Since 2019 A Landmark Achievement”
Panaji (Goa) |Sept 06: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday declared in Panaji, Goa, that the Narendra Modi Government is fully committed to eradicating the drug menace across the country.
Addressing a Press Conference in Panaji Shah drew a direct comparison to the government’s success in ending Left-Wing Extremism, stating that that the same ruthless campaign used against insurgents will now be mobilized to dismantle illegal narcotics networks and secure the nation’s borders.
During a high-level narcotics review meeting with Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and top officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Shah highlighted that internal security has fundamentally shifted since 2019. He recalled how the country previously struggled with a five-decade-old Naxal problem, but relentless security operations have since wiped out the top leadership and forced hundreds of insurgents to lay down their arms and join the mainstream.
Reflecting on broader national security milestones, Shah emphasized that the Centre has tackled formidable challenges over the past decade. He noted that following the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, separatist sentiments have plummeted, terrorism statistics are shrinking toward zero, and the overall security environment across vulnerable regions has drastically improved under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
Shah told reporters in Panaji that 274 fugitives wanted in cases including economic offences, terrorism, narcotics and gang-related crimes have been extradited to India from 36 countries between 2019 and July 2026. Shah also said that Government has strengthened mechanisms to track and bring back fugitives who flee the country after committing crimes.
He said 401 Red Corner Notices have been issued in the last three years, including 182 till July this year. He credited the recently established of all states.
Shah said properties worth around ₹17,874 crore belonging to fugitives have been sealed or confiscated between 2019 and 2026.
