Srinagar: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast light to moderate rain and thundershowers across several parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, with brief intense spells possible in localized areas.
Meteorologists have advised the public to remain cautious, warning that sudden intense showers could trigger localized flash floods, mudslides, and landslides, though routine agricultural and harvesting operations can safely continue.
Meanwhile, daytime temperatures across the Union Territory stayed significantly above normal levels. Srinagar recorded a maximum of 32.5°C—4.7 degrees above average—while Jammu city reached 33.1°C. The weather office added that conditions are expected to remain generally dry from September 5 to 12, barring occasional brief morning showers at isolated places.
