While ordinary mortals seek forgiveness once or twice in a lifetime, J&K politicos collect public apologies like loyalty points. Missed a development deadline? “Deeply sorry!” Made a reckless statement that backfired? “My sentiments were misunderstood, apologies!”
It’s an art form, really. Leaders take a curious, almost sadistic pleasure in delivering these ritualistic “sorry” speeches, while the public munches popcorn, placing bets on who will apologize next. Forget infrastructure or employment promises—the only thing delivered with 100% consistency in J&K politics is a well-timed, teary-eyed press release saying, “Oops, my bad!”
