Ganderbal : Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) has initiated a three-day training program focused on “Drone Technology and Data Capturing for Natural Resource Management” at the Faculty of Forestry in Ganderbal.

The program, organized in collaboration with the Erasmus+ funded ENTER Project, aims to provide undergraduate students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to drone applications in natural resource management. The initiative aligns with the vision of Vice Chancellor Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, who advocates for the integration of emerging technologies into agricultural education to equip students with relevant skills for the future. During the inauguration, Prof. A. H. Mughal, Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, emphasized the significant role of drone technology in sustainable natural resource management, highlighting its transformative potential in areas such as forestry, precision agriculture, and environmental monitoring. He encouraged students to develop expertise in this field, which offers opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship. The program includes technical sessions led by Dr. Akhlaq Amin Wani, who introduced students to the latest advancements in natural resource management and drone technology.
