The DGP was accompanied by Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir Zone, V.K. Birdi, and other senior police officers during the visit.
During his interaction with the SOG personnel, Prabhat appreciated their dedication, commitment and professionalism in maintaining peace and security in the Kashmir Valley. He acknowledged the role played by the SOG in counter-terrorism operations and other security-related assignments, describing the force as a crucial component of the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s security framework.
The DGP encouraged the personnel to continue discharging their responsibilities with courage, discipline and integrity. He stressed the need to remain alert in the face of evolving security challenges and urged the force to maintain the highest standards of operational readiness and coordination.
Prabhat also reviewed the functioning of the unit and took stock of its operational capabilities, infrastructure and preparedness. He held discussions with senior officers on the prevailing security scenario, counter-terrorism strategy and measures aimed at further strengthening the operational effectiveness of the SOG.
The visiting officers also assessed the readiness of the unit to respond swiftly to emerging threats and emphasized the importance of regular training, intelligence-based operations and seamless coordination among different security agencies.
The DGP reiterated that the Jammu and Kashmir Police remains committed to ensuring peace, maintaining law and order and safeguarding the lives of citizens. He said the force would continue to enhance its capabilities through continuous training, adoption of modern technology and effective operational planning.
