Police Seize Two Tractors Used For Illegal Mining In Shopian : Police

Shopian: Police on Monday said that it has seized two tractors for unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals in Shopian district.
In a statement issued here on Monday Police said that during routine patrolling, a police team from Police Station Imamsahib intercepted two tractors in the Imamsahib area and found them transporting minerals without valid royalty documents. A case under FIR No. 47/2026 under the relevant provisions of law has been registered at Police Station Imamsahib, and further investigation has been initiated.
In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to protect natural resources and warned that strict legal action would continue against those involved in illegal mining, appealing people therein to report such activities, assuring that the identity of informants would be kept confidential.
