• Felicitates Meritorious Students at Amar Ujala Medhavi Chhatra Samman Samaroh
• Students urged to pair brilliance with compassion, innovation with responsibility
• Teachers asked to nurture creativity, empathy and lifelong learning skills
Srinagar : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday felicitated meritorious students of Classes 10 and 12 at the Amar UjalaMedhaviChhatra Samman Samaroh held in Srinagar, where he also honoured educators for their valuable contribution to shaping young minds.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the urgent need for transforming classrooms to meet future challenges, saying rapid technological advancements, especially in Artificial Intelligence (AI), are redefining education systems across the world.
“We are living in an era of constant change. AI and modern technologies are reshaping our classroo It’s an opportunity for students and teachers to rise higher, think more deeply, and take bolder steps. Let’s embrace the challenge and shape the future,” LG Sinha said.
He observed that the future would be marked by rapid and revolutionary changes, with many conventional jobs becoming obsolete while new opportunities emerge. In such a scenario, he said, academic excellence alone would not define brilliance.
The Lieutenant Governor said true brilliance lies in futuristic thinking, innovation, and the ability to imagine practical solutions to emerging challenges. He emphasized that excellence means a continuous commitment to improvement and the courage to embrace change.
“Brilliance is not measured only by marks or medals. It means refusing to be satisfied with the status quo, having the passion to create something new, and moving forward with confidence and hope even in uncertain times,” he said.
Addressing teachers, LG Sinha said their role in modern education extends far beyond completing the syllabus. He stressed that educators must adapt to changing times and equip students with lifelong learning skills.
He urged teachers to encourage creativity and nurture values such as compassion and empathy among students. Rather than preparing students merely to compete with machines, teachers must guide them to become more humane, sensitive and resilient individuals, he said.
“The future belongs to those who combine skills with sensitivity and values. Skilled and empathetic students will not only adapt to the modern world but will also shape it as innovators, leaders and responsible citizens,” he added.
The Lieutenant Governor described students as the builders of tomorrow and urged them to carry their brilliance with humility, courage with compassion, and ambition with responsibility.
He said success should be measured not only by personal achievements but also by contributions made toward society and the lives touched through meaningful service.
“Your true reward will not just be the prize you receive today, but the communities you uplift and strengthen in the years ahead,” he told the students.
LG Sinha expressed confidence that the students would emerge as future scientists, engineers, artists, innovators and leaders who would contribute significantly to nation-building while upholding values of justice, compassion and empathy.
