Srinagar: In a significant achievement for Kashmir’s technology sector, ZaffarOwais Andrabi, Chief Executive Officer of Almuqeet Systems, has been named among the Top 10 leaders in ROCCO Research’s prestigious Above and Beyond Awards, earning international recognition in the global telecom industry.
ROCCO Research is a globally respected telecom research and consulting organisation whose studies and rankings are closely followed by mobile network operators, technology vendors, and industry decision-makers worldwide. Its annual awards recognise individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the advancement of the telecommunications sector.
Andrabi’s inclusion in the Top 10 reflects years of leadership, innovation and commitment to delivering technology solutions in an industry marked by rapid transformation, complex infrastructure requirements and growing global competition.
Beyond the personal accolade, the recognition highlights the growing contribution of Kashmir-based enterprises to the international technology ecosystem. Through Almuqeet Systems, Andrabi has played a key role in creating opportunities for young professionals in Jammu and Kashmir, enabling them to acquire industry-relevant skills and gain exposure to global markets.
Over the years, the company has invested in training, capacity building and hands-on project experience in areas such as software development, network infrastructure, cybersecurity and enterprise technology solutions. These initiatives have helped equip local youth with the expertise required to compete in the international technology and telecom sectors.
Almuqeet Systems has also facilitated collaborations with global partners and provided Kashmiri professionals opportunities to work on international projects, contributing to the region’s growing reputation as a source of skilled technology talent.
“This recognition means a great deal to me,” Andrabi said. “It is a reminder that perseverance, vision and commitment do matter. I share this honour with my team and with every young professional who believes that world-class innovation can emerge from Kashmir.”
Industry observers say the recognition is not only a personal milestone for Andrabi but also a reflection of Kashmir’s increasing presence in high-technology industries. As the region seeks to expand its footprint in the knowledge economy, achievements such as these underscore the potential of local entrepreneurship and innovation on the global stage.
ROCCO’s Top 10 recognition is regarded as a significant benchmark within the telecom sector, celebrating leaders whose work has had a measurable impact on the industry’s growth and evolution.
Kashmir now has another reason to celebrate, as one of its own leaders has been recognized for excellence at the global level, while continuing to build opportunity, skills, and pride for the next generation.
