SDM Gool reviews preparations for International Yoga Day 2026

Ramban : Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gool, Imtiaz Monday chaired a meeting of officers to review preparedness and arrangements for International Yoga Day to be observed on 21 June 2026 across the sub-division under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”.

The meeting decided that the main sub-division level function will be organized at Mazamkund.

The SDM briefed officers about their respective roles and responsibilities and emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among all departments. He directed all officers to ensure maximum participation of students, youth, women, senior citizens, government employees and members of civil society at the sub-division level function. He made a special appeal to the youth to actively participate in yoga, as it builds discipline, focus and long-term health.

The SDM directed all line departments to make comprehensive arrangements well in advance. He issued specific instructions for logistics, seating arrangements, drinking water facilities, uninterrupted power supply, public address system, sanitation and first aid services at the venues. He also stressed the need for proper publicity through social media, schools and local institutions to generate awareness about the benefits of yoga for physical and mental well-being.

Under the theme ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’, we must encourage citizens of all age groups to adopt yoga in daily life for long-term wellness,” the SDM said.

The meeting was attended by Tehsildar Harjeet Singh, BDO Sadam Hussain, Naib Tehsildar Inkthab Ahmed, SDAO Sanjay Kumar, SHO, Range Officer Sajid Ahmed, Sameer Ahmed, TSO Sham Singh, BMO Dr.Mohd Iqbal and representatives of all line departments.

Power shutdown

JAMMU, JUNE 15: Chief Engineer (Distribution) JPDCL Jammu has informed that the power supply to Army Installations, Dairy Farm, Sansoo, Mansar, Garhi, BattalBallian, Panchery, Pathi, Moungri, ITBP, PTC and adjoining areas will remain affected on June 16 from 6 am to 5 pm.
