Sopore : Police in Sopore carried out a drive to destroy wild cannabis growing in the jurisdiction of Police Post Fruit Mandi.
Reports said that while acting on specific inputs a joint team of Police, Revenue and Excise officials conducted an operation in Reban village, where wild cannabis spread over a considerable area was identified and destroyed after completing legal formalities. Samples were collected for examination. In its statement Police said that drive is part of a broader effort to eliminate sources of narcotic substances and curb drug abuse across the district.
