Pulwama : Police on Monday said that it has attached a double-storey residential house worth ₹19.65 lakh under the provisions of the NDPS Act.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday Police said that the attached property comprises a double-storey concrete house constructed in 2023 on Plot No. 445 measuring 828.5 square feet at Housing Colony Ompora, Budgam. The property belongs to Towfeeq Ahmad Sheikh, son of Mohammad Rafiq Sheikh, a resident of YaribanHajitraKarnah in Kupwara and presently residing at Housing Colony Ompora, Budgam.
Police said the attachment was carried out under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 124/2025 registered at Police Station Rajpora under Sections 8/21/29 of the NDPS Act. During investigation the property was found disproportionate to the known sources of income of the accused and was allegedly acquired through proceeds generated from illicit narcotics trafficking. In its statement Police reiterated its commitment to taking stringent action against drug peddlers and target assets derived from the narcotics trade as part of the ongoing campaign against drug abuse.
