  • Says “World desperate to join India’s growth journey”

New Delhi:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth in various government departments and organisations under the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela, asserting that India’s young population is driving the country’s march towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.

Addressing the recruits via video conferencing, Modi said the Rozgar Mela reflects the government’s commitment to empowering the country’s youth with new employment opportunities and strengthening their role in nation-building.

“India’s youth are playing a vital role in accelerating the journey towards a Viksit Bharat. Rozgar Mela reflects our Government’s commitment to empowering the Yuva Shakti with new opportunities,” the Prime Minister said.

Highlighting the growing global confidence in India, Modi said the world was eager to partner with the country because of its young talent and rapid technological advancement.

“The world is very excited about India’s youth and India’s technological progress. Today, the world wants to become a part of India’s development journey,” he said.

The Prime Minister said sectors such as clean energy, critical minerals, green hydrogen and sustainable manufacturing were witnessing rapid expansion, creating fresh economic opportunities and employment avenues for young Indians.

“Partnerships in these areas are opening the doors to a new economy and new opportunities,” he noted.

Referring to the government’s long-term vision, Modi said every Indian was moving forward with the resolve to build a developed India by 2047 and stressed that large-scale investments across sectors were generating millions of jobs for the youth.

“Today, every Indian is moving forward with a great resolve. This resolve is to build a developed India by 2047,” he said, adding that investments in infrastructure, technology and emerging industries were contributing to employment generation.

The Prime Minister also pointed to the visible transformation in rural India, saying enhanced connectivity was creating new opportunities for farmers, small traders and students.

“Today, rapid change is visible even in villages. With increasing connectivity, new avenues have opened up for farmers, small traders, and students,” he said.

Calling upon the newly appointed recruits to view public service as an instrument of national service, Modi said Indian youth were making their mark globally and should bring the same energy and spirit into governance.

“Today, India’s youth are making their mark in every field across the world. The same spirit and the same energy should also be reflected in public service,” he said.

The Prime Minister also referred to agreements signed during his recent visits to countries including the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy, saying such partnerships would directly benefit Indian youth and strengthen the country’s future growth prospects.

“All these agreements come with a guarantee of a bright and capable India,” he said.

The 19th Rozgar Mela was conducted at 47 locations across the country. The newly recruited candidates will join various ministries and departments, including the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services and Department of Higher Education.

According to the government, nearly 12 lakh appointment letters have been distributed through 18 Rozgar Melas organised so far since the launch of the initiative.

The Rozgar Mela has emerged as one of the Centre’s flagship recruitment drives aimed at filling vacancies in government departments in a time-bound manner while expanding employment opportunities for the youth. The latest round of recruitment comes amid the government’s continued emphasis on public sector hiring, skill development and employment generation as part of its broader economic and governance agenda.
