Srinagar | October, 13: Calling on officers to ensure effective coordination to address emerging security challenges, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat directed them to strengthen operational preparedness to maintain peace and security across Jammu and Kashmir.
Chairing an operational review meeting in hybrid mode at PCR Kashmir, DGP Prabhat laid emphasis on strengthening the professional competence and operational preparedness of J&K Police, stating that all officers should remain alert, proactive, and operationally prepared.
Top officers attending the meeting briefed the chair on operational preparedness and key security-related developments in the Union Territory. They apprised the DGP of measures undertaken to maintain peace, steps taken to strengthen intelligence-gathering mechanisms, and efforts made to enhance overall operational effectiveness. The DGP emphasised the need to strengthen intelligence-based operations, maintain heightened vigilance, and ensure seamless information sharing among District Police, intelligence agencies, and other security forces.
The DGP stressed the need to intensify patrolling, strengthen area domination, and leverage available technology to enhance surveillance, situational awareness, and response capabilities. He also called for enhanced security in border areas, close monitoring of sensitive locations, strengthened engagement with local communities to build trust, and coordinated efforts to prevent infiltration. Furthermore, the DGP emphasised the effective utilisation of the tenant verification application, frequent inspections of police stations by senior officers to review records and hygiene, and strict traffic management enforcement against violations to promote road safety.
