Srinagar : Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson Syed Darakhshan Andrabi on Wednesday emphasized the need for private stakeholders in the sustainable energy sector to subsidize domestic installations, stating that affordable access is key to strengthening energy security at the grassroots level.

She was addressing an Invergy technical seminar on futuristic energy solutions for consumers, organized by CStar Infra Solutions in Srinagar. The seminar brought together industry leaders and experts to showcase innovative and sustainable energy technologies tailored for Jammu & Kashmir.

Among those present were Invergy Founder and Managing Director Deepak Pandey, Co-Founder and Director Aastik Mani Tripathi, Director Prasoon Chaudhary, Waqf Board Member Syed Muhammad Hussain, Executive Magistrate Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin, and CStar Infra Solutions leadership including Founder and Co-Director Mohad Asif and Managing Director Syed ShafatHaqani.

In her address, Andrabi expressed concern over the prevailing power situation in Jammu & Kashmir, alleging that the government has failed to improve power supply and deliver on its commitments. She said that the ongoing challenges have made it imperative for people to shift towards alternative and sustainable energy solutions, particularly solar power systems offered by private players.

Highlighting the importance of awareness, Andrabi described the PM Surya Ghar Yojana as a visionary initiative aimed at promoting clean energy adoption. She urged stakeholders to actively educate the public about the benefits of such schemes and the availability of modern energy solutions.

“Private partners in the sustainable energy sector need to subsidize domestic installations. I appeal to all service providers to make these technologies more affordable for households so that, through public-private partnership, we can build a reliable and resilient energy ecosystem,” she said.
