Baramulla : Police on Tuesday said that it has destroyed an illegally cultivated poppy crop in Check Jamal Mir village of Palhalan following specific inputs.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday Police said that a joint team comprising police, Executive Magistrate and officials from Agriculture and Excise Departments conducted the operation. The crop was eradicated on the spot after following due legal procedures. Police have registered an FIR under relevant sections of the NDPS Act against the accused and initiated investigation to probe further links. In its statement Police reiterated that strict action will continue against those involved in narcotics cultivation and appealed to the public to report such illegal activities.
