Omar hits out at Mehbooba over SKIMS Director attachment with GAD row

Jammu: Upping the ante at the Chief Minister over attachment of the Director of SKIMS with the General Administration Department (GAD) last week, National Conference (NC) working president Omar Abdullah said the strings in this puppet show were being pulled by an influential Kashmiri doctor sitting in the US and Mehbooba Mufti was either a willing participant or a powerless spectator.
The government on January 6 attached Dr A G Ahangar with the GAD and ordered suspension of three senior faculty members in a separate order. The three suspended doctors were found doing private practice despite ban by the government in a sting operation recently. However, no reason for his attachment was given in the order.
The reacting by the NC working president came after the Jammu and Kashmir High Court (HC) on Thursday stayed the state government’s order to attach Dr Ahangar with the GAD last week.
In a series of tweet, Mr Abdullah, who is the former chief minister of the state, said, “It is becoming more and more apparent that the issue with the Prof Ahangar (Director with court order) was stage managed to orchestrate his removal.”
“The strings in this puppet show are being pulled by an influential Kashmiri doctor sitting in the US & the CM is either a willing participant or a powerless spectator,” he said.
He further alleged that with every passing day it get more evident that J&K doesn’t have a CM but instead have multiple power centres emanating from one family.
