Srinagar : Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sujit Kumar, an IPS officer of 2007 batch, has been honored with the Meritorious Service Medal during the 76th Republic Day celebrations.
Officials said that this award recognizes his distinguished service and significant contributions to national security. Currently, he serves as the Inspector General of Police for Security in Jammu & Kashmir and also holds the additional role of IGP Crime in the region. The Meritorious Service Medal is awarded to police officers who demonstrate exceptional service characterized by dedication and outstanding performance. Sujit Kumar’s leadership and professional competence have been pivotal in enhancing policing and security frameworks within the Union Territory, underscoring his commitment to public safety and law enforcement.
