Jammu : President J&K National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah Monday called upon party cadre to decisively defeat the forces attempting to divide Jammu and Kashmir on religious and regional lines.
Addressing the gathering Dr. Farooq emphasized the critical phase Jammu and Kashmir is currently experiencing, highlighting the need for increased political awareness, adherence to democratic values, and unity among the populace. The event was also attended by Deputy CM Surinder Choudhary and other senior leaders, including Rajya Sabha MPs and cabinet ministers, who participated in discussions focused on enhancing the quality of life, ensuring social justice, and reaffirming the National Conference’s role in fostering a peaceful and democratic future for the region. Dr. Farooq reiterated that the National Conference has consistently been the voice of the people, advocating for their rights even in challenging times. He clarified that the party’s goal extends beyond seeking political power; it aims to address the genuine issues faced by the people. Criticizing the central government, he pointed out that Jammu and Kashmir has been denied its rightful status as a full-fledged state within the Indian federation, urging the government to fulfill its promises regarding restoration. Senior leaders unanimously affirmed that the National Conference is the only party that authentically represents the diverse regions, religions, and communities of Jammu and Kashmir, encouraging continued advocacy for democratic values and institutions.
