Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has recovered a huge quantity of contraband substance during a well-coordinated operation at village Lelhar in Pulwama.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Police said that while acting on credible inputs about one Irshad Ahmad Dar, suspected of having hided a large quantity of contraband, specifically charas, in his residence a case was registered under FIR No. 04/2026 at Police Station Kakapora, prompting an investigation. A search warrant was secured from the Court of JMIC Pulwama, allowing a thorough search of Dar’s home in presence of the Executive Magistrate 1st Class, ensuring adherence to legal protocols. During the search, law enforcers recovered 8.795 kilograms of a semi-grinded substance resembling charas, which was seized following established legal procedures. Dar was subsequently arrested, and investigations are underway to trace the source of the contraband and uncover connections within the drug supply chain.
