Capacity-building prog held under Centre of Excellence project
Srinagar : The Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Srinagar concluded a three-day workshop on “Bloodletting Procedures (Hijamabi’lShart, Ta‘liq al-‘Alaq and Fasd) in Ilaj bi’lTadbeer”. The workshop was organised under the Centre of Excellence (CoE) project funded by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
During the valedictory function at Kashmir University, Registrar Prof. Naseer Iqbal emphasized the critical role of academic and research institutions in enhancing traditional medicine systems. He praised RRIUM Srinagar for its efforts in organizing capacity-building programs that advocate for evidence-based and ethical practices in Unani medicine. Dr. Irfat Ara, Deputy Director of RRIUM Srinagar, delivered the valedictory address, summarizing the workshop’s outcomes and underscoring the significance of structured hands-on training in bloodletting techniques, including Hijama, Ta‘liq al-‘Alaq, and Fasd, to improve clinical skills. She acknowledged the active participation of workshop attendees throughout the sessions. Dr. Towseef Amin, Research Officer in Biochemistry, outlined the workshop’s objectives, highlighting its focus on reinforcing evidence-based Unani therapeutic practices.
