Says “2026 will be the year of historical dev in Waqf in J&K”
Srinagar : Syed Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board and Minister of State, inaugurated the newly constructed first floor and Examination Hall at the Model Waqf School in Chrar-e-Sharief. This infrastructural extension project, which began last year, was completed swiftly and met approved standards. The event was attended by Waqf Board officials and notable local citizens.
During her address, Dr. Andrabi highlighted the Waqf Board’s infrastructural developments in Chrar-e-Sharief over the past three years, emphasizing the area’s significance as a spiritual center in Kashmir. She announced the upcoming introduction of Smart Classes in all Waqf Board educational institutions across the Union Territory and noted that the Waqf Board was the first to implement the National Educational Policy within its schools. Dr. Andrabi also mentioned the positive public response to the transformation at the shrine of Alamdar and projected that 2026 would mark a significant infrastructural advancement for the Waqf Board throughout Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, she paid respects at the shrine of Nund Reshi and reviewed ongoing projects. The event was graced by several prominent figures, including Haji Younis, Imam-0-Kheeb Molvi Ameer-ud-din, writer Inayat Gul, and others.
