5 startups receive ₹20 lakh grant under MeitY GENESIS EIR
Srinagar : The NewGen IEDC, Business Innovation & Incubation Centre, University of Kashmir (KU), organised a two-day immersive workshop on ‘Driving Innovation Through Design Thinking’ at the Main Campus. It was supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, and RUSA 2.0.
The workshop was designed to provide students, innovators, and aspiring entrepreneurs with practical design thinking tools aimed at creating user-centric, scalable, and socially relevant solutions to real-world challenges. It adhered to globally recognized design thinking frameworks, focusing on user empathy, ideation, prototyping, and testing through experiential and collaborative learning methods. During the valedictory ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nilofer Khan emphasized the significance of innovation-led learning in higher education, stating that such initiatives prepare students to think critically and engage with real-life challenges. She advocated for the creation of environments within universities that allow for the testing and refinement of ideas to achieve impactful outcomes.
