Srinagar : Police in Ganderbal on Thursday issued an important public advisory informing citizens that, as per the directions of the District Magistrate, Ganderbal, the use of Virtual Private Network (VPN) Services has been temporarily restricted across the district with immediate effect.
In a statement issued here on Thursday Police said that a precautionary decision has been made to restrict the use of VPN services to enhance public safety, cyber security, and maintain law and order. This measure is intended to prevent potential misuse of VPNs that could hinder lawful monitoring and pose security risks. The public is strongly advised to comply with these restrictions and avoid using VPN services across all digital platforms and devices during this period. Violations of these orders will result in strict legal consequences under applicable laws. In its statement Police appealed people to cooperate fully and act responsibly to promote peace, security, and public welfare in the region.
