CS visits mini-township Jagti, Distributes sanction orders under SSSs, allotment orders among migrant beneficiaries

Jammu : Chief Secretary Atal Duloo Saturday visited the mini-township JagtiNagrota to inspect development works besides inaugurating vital projects.
The Chief Secretary inspected the Sub District Hospital and Government Higher Secondary School, Jagti, the ongoing work on multi purpose community hall being constructed with an estimated cost of Rs 6.5 crore and other development works. He also inaugurated five bore wells and visited the NFSA integration centre.
Later, The Chief Secretary distributed sanction orders for various Social Security Schemes, including Old Age Pension, Widow Pension, and Disability Pension, to approximately 125 migrant beneficiaries. Additionally, he provided allotment orders for 48 government shops and 12 residential quarters to eligible migrants. During the event, he recognized the achievements of meritorious girl students from Government Higher Secondary School, Jagti, and distributed digital ration cards to beneficiaries, while also regularizing some employees from the School Education Department. The Chief Secretary highlighted the significance of extending social sector benefits to Kashmiri and Jammu migrants, who had previously been excluded due to non-digitized ration cards. He encouraged all migrants to integrate their ration cards with the national database to access various government schemes. He instructed government departments to allocate budgetary provisions for the maintenance of services in migrant camps and transit accommodations, in accordance with recent directives from the General Administration Department. Further, he directed the Science and Technology Department to install solar lights in Mini Township Jagti and emphasized the timely completion of repair and renovation works by the Public Works Department, ensuring adherence to quality standards. The Chief Secretary reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to addressing the concerns of the migrant population, including the maintenance of residential quarters and sanitation efforts by the Jammu Municipal Corporation. He also mentioned initiatives under the Mission Youth program, aimed at providing entrepreneurial opportunities for young people. He urged migrant youth to take advantage of self-employment schemes and instructed the Employment Department to enhance awareness of these opportunities. Additionally, he requested the Culture Department to draft a proposal for utilizing the upcoming Multi-Purpose Community Hall at Jagti to showcase Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage. The Chief Secretary noted that renovations of religious sites for the migrant community in Kashmir are also underway. Dr. Arvind Karwani, Commissioner of Relief, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction, provided an overview of ongoing efforts by the Relief Organization, which include infrastructure upkeep, major repairs, maintenance, playground development, integration of migrants into Social Security Schemes, digitization of records, and outreach initiatives for programs like Ayushman Bharat.
