Srinagar : The District Police Shopian has made significant progress in enforcing the New Criminal Laws (NCL) by achieving three successful convictions across various police stations in the district.
The Investigating Officers pursued these case vehemently which led to prosecutions in the court and and finaly substantial sentences for the accused, in line with the newly enacted legal provisions. The details of the cases are reflected in FIR No. 90/2024 from Police Station Zainapora, which involved multiple sections of the law, and FIRs No. 34/2025 and No. 40/2025 from Police Station Heerpora and Zainapora, respectively, each addressing serious offenses under the NCL. The convictions represent a significant milestone for the J&K Police as they adapt to the reformed legal framework, serving as a strong deterrent against unlawful activities. The outcomes of these cases reflect the dedication and diligence of both the investigating and prosecuting teams in ensuring justice through the effective implementation of the new laws.
