Srinagar : The Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance (DIQA) at the University of Kashmir (KU) recently held a one-day orientation workshop titled “Integrating New Faculty into the University Quality Culture.”
The primary objective of the workshop was to introduce newly appointed faculty members to the university’s quality assurance framework, policies, and web-based systems, while also enhancing their understanding of the quality standards in teaching, research, and service that shape the academic environment. During the inaugural session, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nilofer Khan emphasized the importance of awareness and accountability in fostering a culture of quality. She articulated the university’s commitment to ensuring that every faculty member comprehends their role in upholding institutional standards and contributing to ongoing improvement. Dean of Academic Affairs, Prof. Shariefuddin Pirzada, underscored the necessity for consistent efforts to align individual practices with institutional benchmarks, while Registrar Prof. Naseer Iqbal reiterated that quality assurance is a continuous endeavor requiring collective commitment from the academic community.
