Ganderbal : The Department of Economics at the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) on Friday organized a one-day educational field visit for M.A. Economics students, focusing on the theme “Impact of Financial Inclusion on Tribal Communities: A Step towards Viksit Bharat.”
The Head of the Department, Dr. Masroor Ahmad, outlined the activity’s objectives and expressed gratitude to key university figures, including Vice Chancellor Prof. A. Ravinder Nath for his leadership, Dean of Academic Affairs Prof. Shahid Rasool for his mentorship, and Dean of the School of Social Sciences Prof. Sandhya Tiwari for her support. The department also acknowledged the administrative assistance of Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir, the Registrar. The primary goal of the visit was to connect theoretical knowledge with practical experiences by engaging students with local tribal households. This interaction allowed students to conduct household surveys and gain insights into the socio-economic challenges faced by these communities. The experience highlighted how financial inclusion initiatives are empowering marginalized groups and contributing to the broader objective of an inclusive and developed India.
